LOUISVILLE, KY. – Junior
Pat Ries scored for the third straight contest, while senior
Jack Filla made six saves as the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team recorded a 1-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference win at Bellarmine on Sunday afternoon.
Ries netted his fourth goal of the season, and his second game-winner, in the 13
th minute after intercepting the pass and scoring on the break away.
UMSL moves to 3-1 overall, including 2-0 in the GLVC, while Bellarmine slips to 2-2-1 and 1-1 in the league.
Bellarmine outshot the Tritons, 12-6, including 6-3 in shots on goal, but Filla picked up his first shutout of the season by stopping each attempt.
Ries recorded three shots, all landing on goal.
UMSL returns home Friday to host Illinois Springfield in the start of a four-game homestand.
