ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team scored twice in the second half en route to a 2-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over McKendree Sunday night.
UMSL improves to 5-1 overall, including 4-0 in the GLVC, with its fifth straight victory, while McKendree slips to 1-1-1 and 0-1-1 in the league.

Nick Werner broke the scoreless game in the 57
th minute, getting the ball past the Bearcats goalie after a series of touches in the box. Sophomore
Kenan Selimovic picked up the assist on the play.
McKendree nearly got on the board 10 minutes later, but senior keeper
Jack Filla made a diving stop, punching the ball out of play. Filla finished with four saves, playing all 90 minutes in goal.

Pim Boonstra then added an insurance goal in the 75
th minute scoring off his own rebound following a pass from junior
Pat Ries.
McKendree outshot the Tritons, 13-7, while both teams had four shots on goal. Werner placed both of his shots on target.
UMSL continues its current four-game homestand on Friday, hosting No. 3 ranked Rockhurst at 7:30 p.m.
