ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team shut out its second opponent this season in a 2-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over McKendree Sunday night.
The Tritons recorded a goal in each half to improve to 3-1 overall and in the GLVC. The Bearcats fall to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the league.
Senior
Miriam Taylor put UMSL on the board in the 15
th minute when she picked up the deflection off sophomore
McKayla Harder's cross and put it in the back of the net. Senior
Amber Daly was also credited with an assist on the play.
UMSL owned an 11-3 shots advantage through the first 45 minutes of play and finished the game with 17 shots, including nine on goal, while McKendree had six shots, including three on goal.
Freshman
Cara Wilfong added an insurance goal in the 88
th minute for her first collegiate score, scoring from 20 yards out on a played back ball. Freshman
Ali Jaeger assisted on the play.
Taylor took four shots, placing two on goal, while senior
Kayla Delgado put both of her shots on target.
Freshman
Emily Rish played all 90 minutes in goal, recording three saves.
The Tritons return to the field Friday, hosting Rockhurst at 5 p.m.
