KANSAS CITY, MO. – Junior
Jordan Fletcher recorded her second straight double-double, posting 22 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team had a two-game win streak snapped on Thursday night in 78-71 loss at Rockhurst in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The Tritons, which were opening a four-game road swing, slip to 9-9 overall, including 4-6 in the GLVC, while Rockhurst improves to 12-5 and 7-3 in the league. The Hawks also improved to 10-0 at home this season.
Numbers of Note
-Fletcher tallied 20 points for the fifth time this season, including the fourth time in the last six games. She finished 6-of-10 from the field and 10-of-11 at the free throw line.

Chelsey Jacox added a season-best 15 points, nine of which came in final 67 seconds of the game.
-Sophomore
Laura Szorenyi followed with 11 points, seven of which came in the fourth quarter.
-Rockhurst shot 45.3 percent and made eight three-pointers, while UMSL shot 37.7 percent and owned a 36-33 rebounding advantage, including a 13-8 edge on the offensive end, scoring 15 second chance points to the Hawks' five.
-Junior
Sammie Sproul pulled down a season-best seven rebounds and added a pair of three-pointers, making that eight long balls in the last four games – nearly half of her season total of 17.
How it Happened
The Hawks, which never trailed in the game, used a 6-0 run to open the fourth quarter and took their largest lead at 68-56 with just under four minutes to play. However, Szorenyi followed with four straight to ignite an 8-1 UMSL run that cut the deficit to 69-64 on a layup by senior
Chelsey Jacox with 1:07 remaining. Jacox then drained a three-pointer with 51 seconds to play to make it a 72-68 contest, but the Tritons would get no closer as Rockhurst made 6-of-8 at the free throw line to help seal the game.
The Hawks owned a 37-31 lead at the half after posting a 16-13 advantage after the first quarter.
Rockhurst took its first double digit lead (43-33) 1:40 into the second half, but UMSL followed with a 10-1 run to pull within 44-43 on a pair of Jacox free throws at the 5:36 mark. Six of the Tritons' points during that stretch were scored at the charity stripe. Rockhurst posted a 54-49 lead after three quarters.
