ST. LOUIS, MO. – Visiting Bellarmine scored two minutes and one second into overtime to post a 2-1 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team on Wednesday afternoon, ending the Tritons' season.
UMSL needed a win today to at least have a shot at earning a spot in the GLVC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UMSL controlled the field most of the first half as evidenced by a 4-1 shots advantage, but missed a penalty kick by senior
Nick Werner with seven minutes to go. The ensuing shot attempt on the rebound by senior
Pim Boonstra was also stopped by Bellarmine keeper
Zach Pogue.

Pat Ries had a couple looks at the net midway through the second half, including in the 72
nd minute when he broke past two defenders and took the close shot from the right angle but Pogue was staged in the right spot to make the stop.
- The Knights broke the scoreless game in the 79
th minute with a goal off a deflection following a free kick, but UMSL countered 25 seconds later when junior
Oscar Gordillo found the back of the net off a free kick.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- UMSL outshot Bellarmine, 15-7, including 7-4 in shots on goal and held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
- Ries finished with six shots, including three on goal, while Gordillo took three shots, landing two on goal.
