ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team took the first set, but saw Great Lakes Valley Conference leader McKendree rally for the match win on Saturday afternoon.
The Tritons had a six-match win streak snapped with the loss, while the Bearcats remained perfect in league play.
McKendree 3, UMSL 1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-9)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Mckendree used a 4-1 run to take a 22-21 lead, leading to an UMSL timeout, the Tritons reeled off three straight for set point as they forced Bearcats into three hitting errors. Junior

- The Bearcats were aided by a .343 hitting percentage in the second set, despite committing four service errors, and limited the Tritons to a combined .067 hitting in sets two and three.
- McKendree jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the final set before building a 12-1 advantage and finished with frame with just one attack error, while UMSL was limited to four kills.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Freshman
Payton Kennelly led the Tritons with 15 assists and 13 digs, while senior
Madyson Abeyta had 13 assists.
- Redshirt sophomore
Maddy Russell had a team-best nine kills and added nine digs, while sophomore
Selena Nolte recorded eight kills.
- Waedekin finished with 16 digs, while sophomore
Kylie Rudsinski tallied five blocks. Senior
Kara Roggemann added four blocks.
- The Bearcats hit .243 and owned a 12-9 blocking advantage, while holding UMSL to .055 hitting.
