ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team recorded 11 aces en route to a 25-15, 25-14, 25-16 victory over crosstown rival Maryville on Tuesday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
The Tritons, closing out a five-match homestand, improves to 18-7 overall, including 8-6 in the GLVC, while Maryville dips to 2-25 and 1-13 in the league.
Senior
Madyson Abeyta filled out the stat sheet with 26 assists, 12 digs, four kills, two blocks and a service ace. She also directed the offense to a .260 hitting percentage with an offense that was led by sophomore
Selena Nolte's 11 kills. She picked up five of those kills in the first set.
Junior
Alex Miner picked up two of her three service aces in the second set and also added three kills in three swings in that frame.
Senior
Danielle Waedekin also had three aces with two coming back-to-back in the third set.
Sophomore
Kylie Rudsinski added eight kills, hitting a team-best .368, while senior
Kara Roggemann had three blocks as the defense limited Maryville to .040 hitting.
UMSL begins its final roadswing of the regular season on Friday, traveling to Indianapolis.
