LIBERTY, MO. – A fast start in the first set and a rally in the second set helped the University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team to a 3-0 road victory at William Jewell Tuesday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A pair of
Danielle Waedekin aces coupled with two 4-0 runs helped UMSL to an early 14-6 advantage. Junior
Alex Miner then helped make it 20-12 with two kills and a block. Sophomore
Selena Nolte closed the frame with her sixth kill of the set and committed no errors in eight attempts to help the Tritons to a .382 hitting percentage.
- A 7-0 run in the second set turned a 4-3 lead into an 11-3 cushion but the Cardinals followed with an 12-3 run, which included a string of five straight, to take a 15-14 lead. After back-to-back kills from sophomore
Kylie Rudsinski tied it at 17, William Jewell scored the next four, but UMSL rallied back to take a 24-23 lead on Cardinals attack error before securing the win.
- 8-0 run, three Nolte kills and a block gave UMSL a 16-8 lead
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Nolte finished with 11 kills and added three blocks as the Tritons owned an 8-1 advantage in that category, holding the Cardinals to .016 hitting.
- Rudsinski added nine kills as UMSL finished the match hitting .195.
