INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team picked up a key Great Lakes Valley Conference win on Friday night with a 3-1 victory at Indianapolis.
The Tritons hit .220 in the contest with the sophomore trio of
Selena Nolte, Maddy Russell and
Kylie Rudsinski combining for 48 kills to pick up their 19
th win of the season, equaling the most for the program since 2011, which was the first year for seventh-year head coach
Ryan Young.
The win was also the first for UMSL at Indianapolis since 2008.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UMSL took its largest lead of the first set at 13-8 after two straight UIndy attack errors. A kill from Russell later made it 17-14 before the Greyhounds tied it up at 22-22. Kills from junior
Alex Miner and Nolte ended the frame.
- A 4-0 run by UMSL capped by two kills from Nolte made it 19-15, forcing a UIndy timeout. The Tritons then led 22-18 before seeing the host tie it at 24-24. But a kill and a block from Miner helped put UMSL ahead 2-0.
- UIndy jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the third set behind a pair of 5-0 runs. After the Greyhounds made it 19-10, the Tritons went on a 7-1 run, which included six straight, to pull within 20-17. UMSL fended off set point twice before the Greyhounds got the win.
- After UIndy took an 11-7 lead in the fourth set, UMSL used a 7-1 run with three Nolte kills, to take a 14-12 lead. The Tritons later scored four straight to take a 23-19 lead.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Nolte led the offense with 17 kills, while Russell and Rudsinski followed with 16 and 15 each.
- Abeyta notched her seventh double-double, including second straight, with 49 assists and 10 digs.
- Senior
Danielle Waedekin recorded 18 digs, while senior
Kara Roggemann finished with five blocks.
- The Greyhounds hit .201.
