ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team rallied from a 14-point deficit, but fell short in a 61-58 loss to Grand Valley State on Saturday evening.

How it Happened
- The Lakers took their largest lead of the game at 47-33 with 3:35 to play in the third quarter after a 7-0 run, but the Tritons would score 17 straight over the next six minutes. Senior
Sammie Sproul gave UMSL a 48-47 lead with a jumper, while junior
Arielle Jackson capped the run with two free throws to make it 50-47.
- Grand Valley State would tie it at 52-52 before knocking down two three-pointers in a span of 1:22 during an 8-0 run to pull ahead 57-52.
- The Tritons knotted the score again at 57-57 on the first of two free throws by junior
Kaitlynn Henning before the Lakers took a 59-57 lead they would not relinquish with 42 seconds to play.
- Grand Valley State clung to an 18-16 lead after the first quarter and outscored the Tritons, 22-12, in the second quarter for a 40-28 halftime lead.
- UMSL held the Lakers to 2-of-8 shooting in the third quarter and forced their foes into seven turnovers, trimming the deficit to 47-40 at the end of three quarters.
