BENTONVILLE, ARK. - The No. 24 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team extended its win streak to seven games with two more wins at the Arkansas-Monticello 8-State Challenge on Saturday.
The Tritons downed Missouri Southern, 11-1, and Central Missouri, 4-1, to improve to 10-4.
GAME 1: UMSL 11, Missouri Southern 1 (5 inn.)
How it Happened
-UMSL got an early 4-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a three-run shot from sophomore
Serena Olson.

-Single runs came across the plate in the second and third innings, courtesy of an RBI double from senior
Sara Kern and a solo home run by freshman
Annie Kroeger, respectively.

-Olson picked up her fourth RBI of the game in the fourth inning on another four-run frame, which also included a two-run double from senior
Erin Walker.

-Missouri Southern (4-11) got its run with a home run in the fifth.

KEY STATS
-UMSL tallied 11 hits, received three walks and did record a strikeout. Seven hits were for extra base.
-Olson finished 2-for-3 at the plate with four RBI and two runs scored.
-Kern and Walker each had two hits and two RBI, while senior
Alex Stupek finished with two hits and two runs scored.
-Sophomore
Carly Kingery allowed the one run on four hits. She struck out three and did not issue a walk.

GAME 2: UMSL 4, Central Missouri 1
How it Happened
-As she did in the first game, Olson put the Tritons on the board with a home run, this one a two-run blast in the second. Junior
Jennah Perryman then made it 3-0 in that frame with an RBI single.

-After Central Missouri (5-10) cut the lead to 3-1 in the third, Perryman added another RBI in the fourth on a fielder's choice that allowed Stupek to scamper home.

KEY STATS
-Freshman
Andee Tiffee kept the Jennies offense in check with 14 strikeouts. She also scattered three hits and walked four. She struck out six straight between the third and fifth innings and struck out the final five batters she faced.
-Stupek reached base in all four plate appearances with three hits and a walk.
-Olson added two hits and two RBI as UMSL outhit Central Missouri, 7-3.
