ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team clinched a spot in the 2017 GLVC Tournament on Thursday night with a 68-48 win over crosstown rival Maryville Thursday night in the regular season finale.
The Tritons will be the No. 12 seed and will travel to No. 5 seed Indianapolis at 3 p.m. (EST) on Sunday.
UMSL moves its ledger to 11-17 overall, including 5-13 in the GLVC, while Maryville ends its season at 9-21 and 3-15 in the league.
Numbers of Note

Steven Davis scored a team-best 12 points as all 12 players got in the scoring column. Davis knocked down four three-pointers, moving into a tie for second place on the program's single season charts with 84, five shy of the record.

Hunter Reine added nine points and eight rebounds off the bench, while senior

Elijah Watson had eight points each.

Dre Holmes each had four assists as UMSL shot 47.1 percent and owned a 36-28 rebounding advantage.
-The Tritons took advantage of 19 Saints turnovers, outscoring their guests, 22-12, in points off turnovers.
How it Happened
UMSL jumped out to a 22-8 lead halfway through the first half and led 42-21 the break behind 64 percent shooting.
Davis knocked in a three-pointer one minute into the second half as the lead built to 45-23 before the Saints got within 51-39 with 9:03 to play. However, UMSL followed with 10 unanswered and never looked back.
