EVANSVILLE, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team closed out play at the Dunn Hospitality Tournament with a 3-1 loss to Saint Joseph's on Sunday night.
The Pumas (6-1) scored two late runs to break a 1-1 tie en route to the win. UMSL falls to 0-2 with the setback.
How it Happened
-Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second with an unearned run, while the Tritons countered in the bottom of the third with redshirt freshman
Derrick Freeman coming home on the RBI fielder's choice by junior
Jake Morsch. Freeman led off the inning with a single.
-Three Puma hits in the sixth inning helped Saint Joseph's to a run for a 2-1 lead, while another two hits in the eighth led to an insurance run.
By the Numbers

Zach Lindsay went five innings in his first start of the year, allowing one unearned run on three hits in five innings. He also struck out four and issued just one walk in the no decision.

Kevin Smith was tagged with the loss, allowing the final two runs on five hits. After surrendering his first run, Smith struck out five straight and finished with nine in four innings.
-The Tritons drew seven walks and recorded five hits, while Saint Joseph's finished with eight hits.
