GULF SHORES, ALA. – The No. 22 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team lost a pair of games on Sunday to close out play at the Gulf Coast Invitational.
The Tritons were dealt a 9-0 setback to West Florida before falling short against No. 1 ranked North Alabama, 5-4.
UMSL is now 3-3 on the season.
GAME 1: West Florida 9, UMSL 0 (5 inn.)
HIGHLIGHTS
-UMSL was no-hit in the contest and had just two base runners with seniors
Erin Walker and
Sara Kern each drawing a walk.
-West Florida (3-1) delivered three home runs, including a pair of two-run shots in the first inning for a quick 5-0 lead.
-Freshman
Andee Tiffee pitched three innings in relief, striking out the first three batters she faced.
GAME 2: North Alabama 5, UMSL 4
HIGHLIGHTS
-North Alabama, the defending NCAA DII national champion, jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings and used a solo home run in the top of the seventh for the game-winner.
-Freshman
Annie Kroeger got UMSL on the board in the bottom of the fifth with her first collegiate home run and after the Lions added a run in the top of the sixth for a 4-1 advantage, sophomore
Serena Olson delivered her second long ball of the season with a three-run shot in the bottom of that frame to tie it at 4-4.
-North Alabama (3-2) out-hit the Tritons, 10-7. Sophomore
Reagan Osborn recorded two hits for UMSL.

Carly Kingery (2-1) suffered her first loss in the circle, tossing all seven innings. She struck out four and walked just one.
