CLEARWATER, FL. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team scored two runs in the eighth inning to tie the game and then got a two-run single from senior
Jake Beckwith in the 10
th to earn a 6-4 victory over Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday in the Tritons' final game in Florida.
The Tritons improve to 4-7 overall, while UMC slips to 4-4.
How it Happened
-Both teams got on the board in the second inning. UMSL scored in top of the frame, taking advantage of two Golden Eagle errors with sophomore
Tom DeCero driving in junior
Cooper Vinz. However, Minnesota-Crookston would plate four runs in the bottom of the inning.
-The Tritons got one run back in the third when Vinz's double brought in senior
Nick Ulrey.
-Junior
Cole McDonald and DeCero added RBI singles in the eighth to knot the score at 4-4.
-Beckwith drove in Vinz and junior
Jacob Monti in the 10
th.
KEY STATS
-UMSL recorded 10 hits with Vinz tallying three of those, while also scoring three runs. DeCero and Ulrey added two hits each.

Jon Shanker picked up the win, tossing the final three innings. He retired the first four batters he faced and surrendered just one hit.

The Tritons will travel to Illinois Springfield on Thursday before coming home to host Bellarmine in a three-game series next weekend with two games on Saturday and one on Sunday.
