Kingery's No-Hitter and Two-Hitter Power Tritons to Two Wins

ST. LOUIS, MO. – Sophomore Carly Kingery tossed her first collegiate no-hitter in the opening game of a GLVC doubleheader against Missouri S&T on Friday and followed it up with a two-hitter in the nightcap as the Tritons posted victories of 2-1 and 13-1.
 
Kingery, who improved to 17-6 in the circle, walked just one batter on the day, while striking out 15.
 
UMSL reached the 30-win plateau with the wins, improving to 30-12 overall, including 12-6 in the GLVC, while Missouri S&T dips to 17-24 overall and 9-11 in the league.

Game Highlights
- Kingery tossed six perfect frames and struck out 11 without issuing a walk.
 
- Offensively, solo home runs from seniors Alex Stupek (second inning) and Sara Kern (sixth inning) provided the runs.
 
- Missouri S&T tied the game at 1-1 in the fifth inning with a runner reaching on a passed ball after striking out. A throwing error on the sacrifice put runners on the corners before an RBI fielder's choice accounted for the run.
 
Statistically Speaking
- UMSL tallied six hits with three of those being for extra base. In addition to the two home runs, senior Erin Walker had a double.
 
Game 2: UMSL 13, Missouri S&T 1 (5 inn.)
Game Highlights
- UMSL jumped out with six runs on five hits in the first inning, including a two-run double from Kern and a two-run homer from senior Ryan Logan.
 
- Missouri S&T got its only two hits of the day in the second inning on a pair of doubles.
 
- Redshirt freshman Morgan Hill made it 7-1 in the bottom of the second with her single, while four runs came home in the third on four hits, including two on sophomore Serena Olson's double to make it 11-1.
 
- In the fourth, junior Jennah Perryman and sophomore Reagan Osborn each had a RBI single.
 
Statistically Speaking
- The Tritons belted out 15 hits, with all nine starters recording at least one.
- Osborn recorded three hits and scored three runs.
- Logan finished with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.
- Hill added two hits and two RBIs, while Stupek and Perryman each tacked on two hits.
- Kingery tossed another gem, walking just one, while striking out four.
