ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team bounced back from a 9-5 loss in the first of four games against Truman State to defeat the visiting Bulldogs, 16-2, in the nightcap behind 17 hits.
UMSL moves to 14-22 overall, including 8-10 in the GLVC, while Truman State is now 13-27 and 6-12 in the league. The two teams will close out the series tomorrow with another twinbill slated for a Noon start.

Game Highlights
- Truman jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings, scoring all seven runs on seven hits with two outs.
- UMSL then reeled off five unanswered, beginning in the fourth when senior
Nick Ulrey delivered a hard-hit ball up the middle to score senior
Tanner Hudson.
- Two more runs came home in the fifth, including one on and RBI fielder's choice by junior
Jake Morsch and one on an RBI single from junior
Cooper Vinz .
- Back-to-back hits in the sixth from sophomore

Dylan Hoelscher made it 7-5.
- After being held scoreless for four innings, Truman tacked on two runs in the seventh to make it a 9-5 advantage, but UMSL got those runs back in the bottom of the eighth as Morsch took advantage of a two-out Bulldogs error with a two-run single.

- Truman State out-hit the Tritons, 12-10.
- UMSL was led by two hits each from Hudson, Vinz and DeCero.

Game 2: UMSL 16, Truman State 2
Game Highlights
- The Tritons pounded out 17 hits, including six for extra base, in the victory with everyone contributing offensively. Eight of nine players recorded a hit, while everyone scored at least one run. UMSL crossed the plate in five of six frames it went to bat.

Jake Beckwith tallied a hit in each of his first three at-bats, including a grand slam in the third inning for his first home run of the year.
- Truman State scored in the top of the first before UMSL countered with three runs in the bottom of the frame and never looked back.

Jacob Renfrow picked up his team-best fifth win of the season, tossing the complete game five-hitter. Only one of the two runs was earned and he walked just two and struck out one.

- Vinz added two hits, three RBI and three runs scored, while Ulrey drove in four runs.
