CALEDONIA, MICH. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team opened the 2017 season with a 5-1 loss at Davenport on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Davenport, in its first year as an NCAA DII member after finishing third nationally in the NAIA last year, jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead seven and a half minutes into the contest with both goals coming in a span of 1:33.
- The Panthers added two more goals in the 20
th and 21
st minutes for a 4-0 lead.
- Harper got UMSL on the board in the 31
st minute when he lobbed the ball over the Davenport keeper from 25 yards out at the top right of the box. Junior
Aldin Sabotic assisted on the play.
-Davenport added an insurance goal in the 68
th minute.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Davenport held a 17-7 advantage in shots, including 13-4 in shots on goal.
