RALEIGH, NC. – Sophomore
Rose Crabtree scored the game-winner in the 73
rd minute to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Barton College on Friday morning in the Tritons' season opener.
UMSL was originally scheduled to play Catawba on the campus of Barton in the afternoon, but remnants from Hurricane Harvey forced a schedule and location change with the contest moving to Raleigh.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless opening half that saw a combined four shots, including three from the Tritons, UMSL was quick on the attack to start the second period getting a goal from junior
Lexi Norton in the 48
th minute. Norton fired into the left corner from inside the box off the pass from the right wing from sophomore
Kylie Thwing.
- The Tritons got two more shots and a corner kick in the next six minutes but couldn't capitalize before Barton netted the equalizer in the 55
th minute.

Crabtree netted the game-winner on her third career goal in the 73
rd minute, sending the long shot from the left wing inside the right post.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- UMSL finished with 13 shots, including seven on goal. 10 of those shots came in the second half.
- Defensively, the Tritons limited Barton to just two shot attempts.
- Crabtree took three shots, landing two on goal.
- Junior
McKenzie DeRouen played all 90 minutes in goal.
- UMSL had six corner kicks to the Bulldogs' two.
