ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior
Kaitlynn Henning recorded career-highs of 14 points and seven steals to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team to a 63-55 win over McKendree on Saturday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
The Tritons erased a 10-point second half deficit en route to the win and outscored the Bearcats, 22-12, in points off turnovers, taking advantage of 24 miscues by their guests.

How it Happened
McKendree clung to a 23-22 halftime lead and led 15-14 at the end of the first quarter. The Bearcats closed the opening 10 minutes on a 7-2 run, which included five straight. UMSL had jumped out to a 10-2 lead to open the game. Seniors
Shawnta Johnson and
Jordan Fletcher combined for just nine minutes in the first half with both picking up two early fouls.
McKendree started the second half with a 12-6 run and took its largest lead of the game at 40-30 with 3:48 to go in the third quarter. But from there, it was all UMSL. The Tritons finished the quarter with 12 straight points and stretched their run to 24-3 into the fourth quarter for a 54-43 advantage with 4:27 to play on a layup by Fletcher.

- Fletcher finished with 17 points and is now two points shy of 1,000 for her career.

Alex LaPorta snagged double-double number seven on the season with 15 points and 12 rebounds. She had 10 points and nine rebounds in the final 20 minutes.
- UMSL shot 38.7 percent, including 50 percent in the second half, while McKendree shot 40.4 percent and held a 39-35 rebounding advantage.
Triton Tidbits
The Tritons improve to 24-4 all-time against McKendree and have won eight straight, including the last six in which the Bearcats have been members of the GLVC.
