ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team suffered a 72-55 loss to McKendree on Thursday night in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams.
The Tritons shot just 37.5 percent and committed 19 turnovers, leading to a 19-6 scoring advantage in points off turnovers by the Bearcats.

How it Happened
McKendree ended the first half on a 17-3 run to take a 37-31 lead into halftime. The Tritons led 23-16 after the first 10 minute frame, but were outscored, 21-8, in the second quarter as they shot just 17.6 percent from the field and committed six turnovers.
The Bearcats extended the lead to 56-42 after three quarters.

- Sophomore Alex LaPorta pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds and scored 13 points for her third double-double of the season.
- Senior Arielle Jackson scored 10 points, 10 of which came in the first quarter.
- McKendree shot 50.8 percent.
