Arielle Jackson en route to collecting an 82-54 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Illinois Springfield on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
UMSL held a 14-3 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 39-17 after shooting 61.5 percent in the second quarter, which included knocking down 3-of-5 three-pointers. The Tritons scored 14 of their 39 points at the free throw line in the first 20 minutes, going 14-of-19 with UIS being called for 15 fouls.
UMSL took a 59-34 lead into the final 10 minutes. Jackson scored 10 points of her points in that period on 4-of-6 shooting.
Inside the Box Score
- Redshirt junior Laura Szorenyi added 15 points, while freshman McKenzie Lathrom followed with 10 points.
- Freshman Kiara Stewart pulled down 14 rebounds, while sophomore Alex LaPorta snagged eight to help UMSL to a 40-25 advantage in that category.
- The Tritons limited UIS to 30.9 percent shooting, which including just 1-of-12 from the field in the first quarter.
- LaPorta added three steals, while Lathrom and Szorenyi had three assists each.
- UMSL finished 29-of-40 (72.5 percent) at the free-throw line.
