HUNTSVILLE, ALA. – The No. 14 ranked University of St. Louis softball team bounced back from a 4-0 setback to Shorter on Friday to hand Trevecca Nazarene a 13-5 loss in five innings as the Tritons closed out play in the Charger Chillout.
UMSL ends its opening weekend with a 2-2 record. The Tritons return to Arkansas next weekend for the 9-State Classic where they will play six games from Friday through Sunday.

How It Happened
Shorter (4-3) scored all four runs in the first three innings, including a two-run homer in the first.
The Hawks' Payton Lippert retired the first eight Triton batters she faced until issuing a walk to sophomore
CoCo Caraway and a single from junior
Reagan Osborn in the third inning.
UMSL finished with just four hits in the game, two of which came in the seventh inning, when the Tritons got their first runner to third base and left the bases loaded to end the game.

Caraway took the loss in the circle, scattering eight hits in four and two-thirds of an inning.

Serena Olson tallied six RBI, three of which came on a first inning home run, while Perryman drove in four runs behind a pair of doubles.
UMSL plated four runs each in the first and second innings, two in third and three in the fifth
