ST. LOUIS, MO. – Freshman
Anthony Hughes netted five three-pointers en route to a career-high 19 points Thursday night as the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team earned an 80-57 GLVC win over Quincy in the home finale.
UMSL shot 60 percent in the second half to pull away from a three-point halftime lead and outscored the Hawks, 47-27, over the final 20 minutes.

How it Happened
Hughes scored 10 of his points in the opening 20 minutes, including back-to-back three-pointers that gave the Tritons their largest lead of the half at 16-10. The opening frame saw six ties and eight lead changes before UMSL took a 33-30 lead into the break.
The Tritons opened the second half with a 15-2 run that included a string of 10 unanswered, to extend the advantage to 48-32 five minutes and 14 seconds in and never looked back.

Elijah Watson dished out four assists, bringing his season total to 140, which ties the single season mark set by Jason Black (2008-09).
- UMSL shot 50.9 percent and owned a 38-27 rebounding advantage, while Quincy shot 37.7 percent.
- Grubbs pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
