PITTSBURG, KAN. – Junior
Serena Olson hit three of the Tritons' seven home runs on Sunday as the University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team recorded a split at Pittsburg State. The host Gorillas took the opener, 7-6, while UMSL posted a 7-0 shutout victory in the nightcap.

How It Happened
The opening game featured a combined six home runs, including four from the Tritons, two of which came from junior
Serena Olson and saw the host Gorillas rally back from a 4-0 deficit with seven unanswered runs.
Olson's first long ball came in the second inning and gave UMSL a 4-0 lead following a first inning that saw a two-run shot from junior
Madi Sundling and a solo blast from junior
Chelsea Martinez.
Olson then delivered a two-run round tripper in the sixth that accounted for the final score and brought UMSL within 7-6 after Pitt State scored seven unanswered runs. The Gorillas got within 4-3 in the bottom of the second with a three-run homer and took a 7-4 lead they would not relinquish in the fifth an another three-run shot.

Senior
Jennah Perryman recorded her second of the season and the 31
st of her career in the first inning, while Olson delivered her third of the day in a two-run second inning, in which junior
Reagan Osborn also drove in a run with an RBI double.
Martinez made it 6-0 in the third with a three-run shot, while Perryman picked up her second RBI of the game on a single in the sixth inning for the final score.
Junior All-American
Carly Kingery saw her first action of the season in the circle, allowing just one hit, while striking out seven and walking four in three innings of work.
Inside the Box Score

Andee Tiffee, who earned the win in relief, combined for the two-hit shutout. Tiffee struck out five, walked four and scattered just one hit in four innings.
