ST. LOUIS, MO. – Visiting and No. 16 ranked Indianapolis hit four home runs en route to a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader sweep of the University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team on Sunday afternoon. The Greyhounds won 7-6 and 3-0.

Game 1: Indianapolis 7, UMSL 6
A five-run fourth inning by the Greyhounds and a lead-off solo home run in the fifth that capped a 6-0 run propelled UIndy to the win, erasing a 6-1 deficit.
The Tritons erased a deficit of their own with a five-hit, six-run third inning to take the 6-1 lead. Junior
Serena Olson tied the game with an infield RBI single, while junior
Chelsea Martinez gave UMSL a 3-1 lead with a two-run single. Junior
Jennah Perryman then delivered a three-run homer, her third of the year.
UMSL edged UIndy in hits, 9-8, but left eight runners on base, including two in the bottom of the seventh. The Greyhounds tallied three home runs, including a grand slam that tied it in the fourth.
Junior
Reagan Osborn reached base in all four plate appearances with two singles and two walks. Perryman and Martinez also had two hits each.
Sophomore
CoCo Caraway was tagged with the loss in one and two-thirds of an inning. Junior
Carly Kingery worked five and one-thirds inning in the start, allowing six runs on six hits. She struck out seven, five of which came in the first three innings.
Game 2: Indianapolis 3, UMSL 0
A two-out error by the Tritons in the sixth inning led to the first UIndy run before a two-run homer in the seventh brought in two insurance runs.
UMSL was limited to three hits, while Greyhounds hurler Haylie Foster retired 10 straight before allowing a lead-off walk to Perryman in the bottom of the seventh. The Tritons also got another base runner courtesy of a Greyhounds error but were unable to bring a run across.
Sophomore
Andee Tiffee tied a season-high with 11 strikeouts and allowed three runs, including two earned, on six hits.
Up Next: UMSL hits the road for the first time in GLVC play next weekend, traveling to Illinois Springfield on Saturday and to Lewis on Sunday.
