KISSIMMEE, FLA. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team was plagued by six errors on Sunday afternoon in a 22-9 loss to No. 25 ranked Seton Hill.
The Griffins (4-0) scored 10 runs in the second inning after a two-out error, while two other errors followed in that frame. Of Seton Hill's 22 runs, only 10 were earned.
Offensively, the two teams combined for 33 hits. Senior
Cooper Vinz went 4-for-6 at the plate, while sophomore
Jarrett O'Brien was 3-for-4 with three RBI. Freshman
AJ Davis added two hits and two RBI, while freshman
Jared Solomon tallied two hits and scored three runs.
UMSL plated four of its runs in the eighth inning on three hits and a Griffins error. O'Brien had an RBI double, while Davis recorded a two-run single.
O'Brien also picked up RBIs in the second inning with a single and in a two-run seventh inning with a sac fly.
UMSL (3-2) returns to the field at 10:30 a.m. (EST) tomorrow against Cedarville.
