KISSIMMEE, FLA. – Lewis scored 10 unanswered runs, including eight over the final four innings, en route to a 10-1 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team on Friday afternoon in the Sunshine State Games.
Freshman
Josh Shoemaker brought in the lone Triton (5-6) run with an RBI single in the first inning.
The Flyers (4-7) countered with two runs in the top of the second before two runs in the sixth and seventh and four in the eighth.
Offensively, senior
Jake Morsch went 4-for-4 at the plate, while UMSL recorded seven hits as a team.
Senior
Alex Oltmann was tagged with the loss, surrendering four runs, including three earned, on five hits. He also walked three and struck out three.
UMSL will close out its trip to Florida tomorrow with a doubleheader against Wayne State (Mich.).
