ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior
Serena Olson homered three times on Friday as the University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team split with visiting Great Lakes Valley Conference foe Missouri S&T.
The Tritons won the opener, 5-3, extending their win streak to 11 games, but that had that run snapped with a 16-9 loss in the nightcap.
Olson upped her home runs season total to 16, which ties the second most in program history and is two shy of the record, and her career total to 38, tying senior
Jennah Perryman for the fourth most all-time.

Perryman tallied her ninth of the season with a two-run shot in the first inning after junior
Reagan Osborn led off with a single for a quick 2-0 lead.

Serena Olson added a solo homer in a three-run, four-hit sixth inning. Olson's roundtripper made it 3-1, while a two-out, two-run single from freshman
Carlie Kudary extended the lead to 5-1.
Junior
Carly Kingery improved to 10-3 in the circle, scattering eight hits, while walking one and striking out five.
UMSL totaled nine hits, including two each from Perryman and junior
Chelsea Martinez.
Game 2: Missouri S&T 16, UMSL 9
The Lady Miners scored in six of seven innings, highlighted by a four-run fifth and a six-run seventh.
Missouri S&T jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, scoring once in the first inning to snap sophomore
Andee Tiffee's streak of 23 innings of scoreless work that spanned three games.
UMSL hit for the cycle the third inning to take a 4-3 lead, getting a bunt single from Kudary, an RBI double from Perryman, a lead-off triple from freshman
Sapphire Munoz and a three-run homer from Olson.
After tying the game in the fourth, Missouri S&T sent 10 batters to the plate in a four-run, four-hit fifth inning, which was also aided by an UMSL error to take an 8-4 lead.
Olsson recorded her third home run in the fifth to make it 8-5 and after a two-run shot by the Lady Miners in the top of the sixth, UMSL used four hits and took advantage of two S&T errors in the bottom frame to get within 10-9. Osborn had a two-run single, while junior
Lizzy Miller added a one-run single in that frame.
The Lady Miners then exploded for six runs, including five with two outs, in the seventh.
Missouri S&T out-slugged UMSL, 15-12, behind a four-hit, nine RBI performance from Olivia Young.
For the Tritons, Olson had the two home runs, four RBI and scored three runs. Osborn, Martinez, Munoz and Kudary also had two hits each.
