ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team lost a 9-4 non-conference game to No. 5 ranked Illinois Springfield on Tuesday as the visiting Prairie Stars ran their win streak to 28 games.

Both teams combined for nine hits with UIS outhitting UMSL, 6-3, while the Prairie Stars drew 14 walks.
UIS jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning, scoring all six runs on two outs, sending 11 batters to the plate.

Jason Stuckmeyer tossed three scoreless innings in relief, scattering just one hit, while walking three – all of which came in his final inning of work.
