ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team lost a 9-4 non-conference game to No. 5 ranked Illinois Springfield on Tuesday as the visiting Prairie Stars ran their win streak to 28 games.

Both teams combined for nine hits with UIS outhitting UMSL, 6-3, while the Prairie Stars drew 14 walks.
 
UIS jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning, scoring all six runs on two outs, sending 11 batters to the plate.
 
A two-out RBI single from junior Xavier Collier in the second got the Tritons on the board before three runs came home in the third, including one on a Cooper Vinz RBI single.
 
Junior Jason Stuckmeyer tossed three scoreless innings in relief, scattering just one hit, while walking three – all of which came in his final inning of work.
