EVANSVILLE, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team was limited to two runs and seven hits on Saturday in a pair of GLVC losses at Southern Indiana. The Screaming Eagles won 4-1 and 3-1.
The Tritons, which have lost five straight, entered the doubleheader ranking third in the league with a .314 batting average and third with 406 hits.

Game 1: Southern Indiana 4, UMSL 1
UMSL got the game's first run, but the host Screaming Eagles scored four unanswered, with three runs coming in on two home runs.
Freshman
Sapphire Munoz had two of the Tritons' four hits, including an RBI single in the second inning. USI countered with a solo home run in the bottom half of the second and scored once in the fifth before a two-run long ball in the sixth.
Junior
Carly Kingery (11-6) suffered the loss despite allowing just four hits. She also walked three, hit two and struck out seven.
Game 2: Southern Indiana 3, UMSL 1
Southern Indiana scored all three of its runs in a four-hit fourth inning, while UMSL avoided the shutout with a sac fly from junior
Madi Sundling in the seventh.
USI outhit the Tritons, 8-3, and drew six walks, while leaving 12 runners on base.
