ROLLA, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team concluded a four-game GLVC series at Missouri S&T on Sunday with 8-4 and 10-7 losses.
The Tritons lost the opener on a walk-off and rallied to tie it late in game two, but saw the Miners answer with a rally of their own en route to the win.
Senior
Cooper Vinz had four hits on the day, extending his hitting streak to 10 games.

Game 1: Missouri S&T 8, UMSL 4
The Miners won on a two-out, walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh. Missouri S&T recorded four of its 10 hits during that frame.
An RBI bases loaded hit-by-pitch to junior
Tom DeCero in the first inning gave UMSL a 1-0 lead, but two runs in both the second and third innings by the Miners gave the home team the 4-1 lead.
A four-hit fourth inning, along with a Missouri S&T error helped UMSL even the score at 4-4. Vinz drove in a run with a single, while senior
Jacob Monti followed with an RBI double. A two-out error led to the third run.
Monti finished with two hits, while senior
Jake Morsch added a hit and drew two walks, while scoring two runs.
Game 2: Missouri S&T 10, UMSL 7
UMSL scored five runs in the eighth inning to tie the score at 7-7, despite recording just two hits. The Tritons sent nine batters to the plate and drew three walks, while also being aided by an error, two wild pitches and a passed ball. DeCero delivered a two-run single that got UMSL within 7-6 and later scored the tying run on a wild pitch.
However, Missouri S&T used a rally of its own in the bottom half of the frame, scoring three runs on four hits.
Three runs in the fourth helped the Miners to a 4-1 lead before two more in the fifth made it 6-1.
UMSL got on the board in the third with an RBI groundout from freshman
Josh Shoemaker, while freshman
John Hilpert used an RBI single in the sixth to make it 6-2.
Missouri S&T out-hit UMSL, 14-11. Vinz was 3-for-6 at the plate, while DeCero added two hits and two RBI. Junior
Xavier Collier also recorded two hits with a double and a triple.
Up Next: UMSL will close out the regular season with five games next week. The Tritons travel to Southern Indiana on Tuesday in non-league play before hosting Rockhurst on Saturday and Sunday in a four-game GLVC series.
