SPRINGFIELD, ILL. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team lost a 3-1 (25-23, 24-26, 25-14, 25-23) decision at Illinois Springfield Friday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action in the start of a four-match road swing.

How It Happened
- SET 1: UMSL fended off three set points, pulling within 24-23 after trailing 24-20. The Prairie Stars ended the frame with one of their 18 kills, hitting .342 in the opener.
- SET 2: The Tritons fought off a late rally by UIS. After leading 21-18 and forcing a timeout, the Prairie Stars battled back for 24-23 lead. Senior Alivia Brinker finished the set with a service ace. UMSL overcame a 6-3 blocking disadvantage in the win.
- SET 3: Both teams had just 10 kills, but the Tritons committed eight errors to UIS's three.
- SET 4: Trailing 22-19, UMSL used a 4-1 run, capped with a kill from junior Kylie Rudsinski, to pull even at 23-23, but the home team scored the final two to win the match.
Statistically Speaking
- Rudsinski recorded a match-high 13 kills.
- Freshman Megan Woll had 21 digs, while senior Alivia Brinker tallied 20.
- Sophomore Payton Kennelly finished with 27 assists, seven digs and two service aces.
- UMSL hit .135, while UIS hit .235 and had a 15-7 block advantage.
