QUINCY, ILL. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team came up on the short end of a five-set match on Saturday, falling 25-23, 21-25, 25-14, 15-25, 12-15 at Quincy in GLVC play.
Despite the loss, freshman
Megan Woll recorded a career-high 42 digs, which ties the second most by a GLVC player this season. She is the first player to have two 40-plus dig outings this year.

How It Happened
- SET 1: UMSL fended off three set points before Quincy got the win.
- SET 2: A kill from junior Selena Nolte gave UMSL set point, but it was then the Hawks who fended off three set points before the Tritons evened the match. UMSL hit .245 in that frame and limited the Hawks to .071 hitting with a 3-0 blocking advantage. Nolte finished with seven kills in 11 swings with no errors.
- SET 3: An 11-3 Quincy run turned a 6-6 score into a 16-9 advantage for the home team. Woll registered 12 of her digs in this frame.
- SET 4: UMSL scored eight straight, getting three kills from junior Kylie Rudsinski, to turn a 14-12 advantage into a 22-12 lead. The Tritons hit .229 in that frame and got six kills from Rudsinski.
- SET 5: Quincy raced out to a quick 11-2 lead, but UMSL would follow with a 10-3 run that made it 14-12. The Tritons scored eight of those points with the Hawks at match point.
Statistically Speaking
- Nolte finished with 17 kills and added five blocks, while Rudsinksi tallied 13 kills.
- Both setters had double-doubles, including freshman Cara Ferchen (26 assists, 13 digs) and sophomore Payton Kennelly (17 assists, 14 digs).
- UMSL hit .149 and outblocked Quincy, which hit .115, but the Hawks finished better in kills (62-50).
- The Tritons equaled a season-high 11 service errors.
