ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior
Selena Nolte tallied a match-high 22 kills to help lead the University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Bellarmine in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams. It was also the Tritons' home opener. UMSL won by set scores of 25-17, 12-25, 25-20 and 27-25.

How It Happened
- SET 1: UMSL hit .353 in the opening set, totaling 23 kills to Bellarmine's eight. Nolte tallied nine of her kills in the opening frame.
- SET 3: UMSL bounced back from a dismal seven kills and a .000 hitting percentage by hitting .394 in the third set with Nolte (five kills), senior Maddy Russell (five kills) and junior Kylie Rudsinski (four kills) combing to hit .608 (14 kills, no errors, 23 attempts).
- SET 4: UMSL rallied from an 18-14 deficit using a 6-1 run to pull in front, 20-19. Bellarmine scored the next four, but the Tritons rallied to tie it at 23-23 and after the Knights fended off one set point, Russell finished the match with back-to-back kills.
Statistically Speaking
- Russell picked up her first double-double of the season with season-bests of 16 kills and 14 digs.
- Freshmen Cara Ferchen also notched a double-double, tallying 35 assists and 11 digs to help the Tritons to a .268 hitting percentage.
- Freshman Megan Woll had a season-high 29 digs.
- Bellarmine hit .247 and out-blocked UMSL, 6-1.
- Rudsinski finished with 12 kills.
