ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team saw visiting Bellarmine outscore them 17-8 in the fourth quarter en route to claiming a 54-50 victory Thursday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The Tritons led for 25:24 of the game, while Bellarmine only held the lead for 10:15. The Knights opened the fourth quarter with nine straight to ignite a 13-2 run to rally for the win.

How it Happened
UMSL led 18-15 at the end of the first quarter and took a 26-21 lead into the break after a second frame that saw both teams combined for just 14 points and 21 percent shooting. The Tritons never trailed by more than two points in the opening half and held their largest lead of five early in the first quarter.
Bellarmine opened the second half with an 8-3 spurt and knotted the game at 29-29 before UMSL answered with an 8-2 run. The Tritons took a 42-37 lead into the final 10 minutes.
The Knights took their largest lead of the game at 50-44 with 4:18 to play before the Tritons got within two on back-to-back buckets, but would get no closer. Bellarmine's Breia Torrens sealed the game with four free throws in the final six seconds.

- Sophomore Alex LaPorta finished with 12 rebounds, eight points and five assists.
