TERRE HAUTE, IND. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team hung with NCAA Division I Indiana State until late in the game on Saturday before the host Sycamores pulled away for a 62-55 win. The game was the home opener for ISU, while the contest was an exhibition for the Tritons.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Indiana State (3-4) scored 12 straight points, including eight at the free throw line, to erase a 43-40 deficit and take a 52-43 lead it would not relinquish with 5:38 to play. The Sycamores took their largest lead of 13 points with 1:50 to play before the Tritons ended the game with the final six points.
Indiana State clung to a 25-23 halftime lead. The game saw 15 lead changes and four ties.

- Junior Yaakema Rose Jr. scored a team-high 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while grabbing five rebounds.
- Senior Jalen Wilkins-McCoy added 11 points, five steals, four rebounds, two blocks and two assists.
- UMSL shot 42.6 percent, while Indiana State shot 43.8 percent and held a 32-26 rebounding advantage.
- Indiana State was 19-of-24 at the free-throw line, while UMSL was 2-of-3.
