CANTON, MO. –The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team shot just 29.6 percent from the field Monday night in a 68-53 loss at Culver-Stockton. The Tritons were returning to the court following a 13-day layoff for final exams

HOW IT HAPPENED
Culver-Stockton opened the fourth quarter with a 12-0 run after scoring the final five points of the third quarter to pull away for the win.
The Wildcats held a 21-20 lead after the opening 10 minutes, while the Tritons went on top, 34-33, at the half. The hosts then used that 5-0 run at the end of the third quarter to take a 51-44 advantage heading into the final 10 minutes.
Culver-Stockton shot 48.1 percent and took advantage of 17 UMSL turnovers, outscoring the Tritons, 28-7, in points off turnovers, recording 10 steals.
Despite the loss, UMSL held a 55-32 rebounding advantage, including a 28-5 edge on the offensive end.

- Junior Alex LaPorta recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds to go with five assists
- Junior Kyra Hungerford finished with a career-high 11 points.
- Sophomore Kiara Stewart tallied eight points and nine rebounds.
