SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team shot a season-high 58.9 percent on Wednesday night, including 61.1 percent (11-of-18) from three-point range en route to an 85-40 win over Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras. Four players scored in double figures, while all 11 players got in the scoring column.
UMSL improves to 9-1 with the win, its eighth straight.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UMSL led 39-27 at the half before outscoring UPR-Rio Piedras, 46-13, in the second half.
The Tritons capitalized on 25 turnovers by their opponents, owning a 28-5 scoring advantage in points off turnovers. UMSL also held a 29-25 rebounding advantage and limited UPRRP to 30.3 percent shooting.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Redshirt junior Kenny Berry scored a career-high 15 points, netting 6-of-8 field goals, including 3-of-5 from long range.
- Redshirt freshman Trever Moore finished with a career-high 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
- Junior Jose Grubbs (14 points) and redshirt sophomore Steve Webb (12 points) also reached double figures.
- UMSL had 20 assists on 33 field goals with Webb dishing out six of those.
- Berry also led the team with five rebounds.
