SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO –The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball closed out 2019 with a 79-48 win over Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
UMSL improves to 5-5 with the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons shot 50.8 percent from the field and made 14-of-24 free throws, while holding a 37-27 rebounding advantage.
UMSL led 19-13 at the end of the first quarter and 37-28 at the half before outscoring its hosts, 42-20, in the second half.

- Junior Danielle Berry recorded 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
- Junior Alex LaPorta followed with 11 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
- Sophomore Kiara Stewart chipped in 11 points and six boards.
