ST. LOUIS, MO. – Playing in the Mark Twain Building for the last time this season, seniors
Arielle Jackson and
Kaitlynn Henning led the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team to a 70-61 victory over Missouri S&T on Saturday afternoon.
Jackson scored a game-high 20 points and added seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Henning made all six field goals, finishing with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
With the win, the Tritons snapped a five-game losing streak and finish with a 10-4 record at home.

How it Happened
UMSL scored the game's first 10 points, holding Missouri S&T scoreless for the first five minutes of the contest. The Tritons led 19-8 after the first quarter, while a three-pointer by freshman
Adriana Plavsic, who was making her first collegiate start, made it 22-8 to open the second quarter.
The Miners later scored eight unanswered to pull within 29-24 with just under three minutes to play. UMSL then scored the final five points of the frame, including a three-pointer from Henning at the buzzer for a 34-24 halftime lead.
A 10-4 spurt by the Miners to open the third quarter trimmed UMSL's lead to 38-34 with 4:40 to play. However, UMSL ended the period with an 8-1 scoring advantage and took a 46-35 lead into the final 10 minutes.
The Tritons took their largest lead of the game at 55-40 on a Henning three-pointer with 5:48 on the clock and then fended off a Missouri S&T rally that saw the guests get within five points with just over two minutes remaining. UMSL made 8-of-12 free throws in the final 1:21 to help seal the game.
