How it Happened
It was a slow start for UMSL, who found themselves trailing 14-8 midway through the first half after recording more turnovers than made field goals. The Tritons rebounded to take their first lead of the game at 21-19 at the 3:13 mark on a layup from junior Ronnie Carson following a McCoy steal before the teams went to halftime deadlocked at 26-26.

The Miners made their first six field goals to open the second half and equaled their largest lead of the game at six points (37-31) before nine unanswered by the Tritons made it 46-42 on a three-pointer from sophomore Anthony Hughes with 11:48 to play.

Then after Missouri S&T tied it at 48-48, UMSL went on a 14-3 run, capped with 10 straight, for a 62-51 lead on a pair of free throws by McCoy, who had six of his points during that stretch.
