CRAWFORDSVILLE, IND. – Junior
Amber Visser broke her own school record in the 100-yard breaststroke on Friday, while also helping the 800-yard freestyle relay to a school mark to highlight action for the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's swimming team on day three of the GLVC Championships.
Visser swam a 1:04.23 in the prelims of the 100 breaststroke before finishing fourth in the finals in a time of 1:04.28. Junior
Mailin Gupta gave the Tritons two top-six finishes in that event, placing sixth in 1:05.46.
On the men's side, senior
Esteban Pombo broke his own school record in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing 12
th in 1:50.31. Pombo's time was also one of three NCAA DII B-cuts by the UMSL men. Senior
Radoslaw Chupka, who was sixth in the 100-yard backstroke in 49.16, also had a B-cut in that race.
Competition of the four-day meet concludes tomorrow with prelims at 10 a.m. (EST), followed by finals at 5:30 p.m. (EST).
