ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team lost by scores of 7-1 and 10-3 on Sunday afternoon as they began GLVC play with the first two of three games against Lewis.

Game 1: Lewis 7, UMSL 1
The Tritons recorded six hits and got their run in the first inning on an RBI groundout from junior
Jackson Dvorak.
UMSL led off with a single from freshman
Jacob Stoker and a double from junior
Jarrett O'Brien before Flyer's hurler Pete Hamot retired 17 of the next 18 Triton batters, including seven on strikeouts.
Lewis scored twice in the first before a three-run fourth and single runs in the fifth and ninth innings.

Derrick Freeman had two hits for UMSL.
Lewis finished with eight hits and drew nine walks.
Game 2: Lewis 10, UMSL 3
UMSL jumped out to a 3-1 lead after one inning despite just one hit. The first three players reached on a walk, an error and a hit by pitch, respectively, before junior
Andrew Hayden drove in two with a double and senior
Tom DeCero followed with a sac fly.
Three runs on two hits in the top of the third gave Lewis a 4-3 lead it would not relinquish.
Lewis tallied nine hits and drew 10 walks.
UMSL had three hits, including a double from junior
Jon-Anthony Caban for his first hit of the season.
