ST. LOUIS, MO. – Senior
Chelsea Martinez combined to go 4-for-6 with three RBIs on Saturday as the University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team picked up 2-1 and 6-3 wins over visiting Bellarmine in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
The Tritons tallied 17 hits in the two games, including 11 in the nightcap and also got three hits from redshirt junior
Morgan Hill, including a pair of doubles.

Game 1: UMSL 2, Bellarmine 1
Martinez's two-out two-run single in the fifth gave the Tritons a 2-0 lead, scoring senior
Carly Kingery and Hill, who reach on a single and double, respectively.
Bellarmine scored its run in the seventh, turning a lead-off double into an eventual run off a sac fly. The Knights left two runners on base to end the game as junior
Andee Tiffee (7-3) picked up her ninth strikeout of the game to end the threat.
Both teams finished with six hits.

The Tritons erased a 2-0 deficit with four runs in the third on five hits, including a Hill RBI double and a Mrzlak RBI single. The other two runs came on bases loaded walks to senior
Lizzy Miller and freshman
Hayli Richards.
Martinez delivered her fifth home run in the fourth with a solo shot to make it 5-3, while later in that frame, an RBI double from senior
Madi Sundling followed a double from Tiffee to account for the final score.
Senior
Carly Kingery (8-8) went five innings in the start, striking out four, walking three and scattering five hits and three runs.
