QUINCY, ILL. – Senior
Chelsea Martinez delivered a pair of two-run home runs on Friday to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team to 2-0 and 3-1 wins at Quincy in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The long balls were numbers seven and eight on the season, which leads the GLVC.

Game 1: UMSL 2, Quincy 0
Martinez's first two-run homer provided the scoring, while junior
Andee Tiffee tossed the complete game three-hit shutout.
Tiffee (10-3), who recorded her second straight shutout, struck out 12 and walked just one. Tiffee has not allowed an earned run in 21 straight innings of work.
UMSL tallied seven hits, including two each from senior
Reagan Osborn and freshman
Anna VanGundy.
Game 2: UMSL 3, Quincy 2
Martinez delivered her second two-run shot in the fifth inning to break the 1-1 tie.
Redshirt junior
Morgan Hill picked up the RBI single in the first inning.
Senior
Carly Kingery (10-9) earned the win, scattering six hits, walking five and striking out six. Quincy left nine runners on base, including the bases loaded twice as Kingery worked out of those jams.
UMSL finished with five hits and also drew six walks, including two by Osborn, who scored two runs.
