Women's Soccer Opens GLVC Play With Win at Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team opened Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Sunday with a 1-0 win at one of the league's newest league members Lindenwood.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Redshirt junior Sarah Lyon scored the game's only goal just six minutes and three seconds into the contest with the assist going to junior Emily Hanewinkel.
 
The Lions out-shot the Tritons, 14-5, including 5-2 in shots on goal, and held an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.
 
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Junior Amber Hayes made five saves, playing all 90 minutes between the posts.
- Lyon took two of UMSL's five shots on goal, while junior Melanie Gubicya had the other shot on goal.
