ROLLA, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team opened its 2019 season with a sweep of Arkansas Tech on Thursday night at the Miner Invitational, hosted by Missouri S&T.
The Tritons, which hit .313 in the match, won by set scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-19.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UMSL trailed 6-2 in the first set, but followed with a 9-2 run that put them ahead 12-8 en route to the win before hitting .407 in the second frame.
- Despite limiting Arkansas Tech to .189 hitting, the Golden Suns had a 6-4 advantage in blocks.
- Arkansas Tech committed eight service errors.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Senior
Selena Nolte tallied a match-high 13 kills with no errors, hitting at a .500 clip.
- Sophomore
Charlotte Richards finished with nine kills and nine digs, while freshman
Raquel Kessler also recorded nine kills in her collegiate debut.
- Sophomore
Megan Woll picked up 16 digs.
- Junior
Kaileen Herman dished out 29 assists and added five digs and three kills.
