ROLLA, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team collected two wins on Friday at the Miner Invitational, hosted by Missouri S&T. The Tritons swept Arkansas-Fort Smith in the morning before fending off Arkansas-Monticello, 3-2, in the evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A balanced attack with three players recording 13 kills helped the Tritons to the win.
- UMSL recorded 49 kills and hit .357, including included a .441 attack percentage in the second set. The Tritons tallied 17 kills in that frame with just two errors.
- The Tritons held a 6-3 advantage in blocks, while Arkansas-Fort Smith hit .204.
- UMSL overcame 10 service errors.

- Seniors
Selena Nolte and
Kylie Rudsinski and sophomore
Charlotte Richards had 13 kills each.
- Richards added seven digs and three blocks.
- Freshman
Raquel Kessler finished with six kills in eight swings with no errors and added four digs and four blocks.
- Junior
Kaileen Herman directed the offense with 37 assists, while sophomore
Megan Woll tallied nine digs. Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UMSL hit .519 in the first set and tallied three aces, before slipping to a .157 combined clip over the set two and three losses.
- The Tritons jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the third set before extending it to 15-2, hitting at a .565 mark.
- UMSL limited the Cotton Blossoms to just six kills in the last two sets.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Richards notched her first collegiate double-double (15 kills, 12 digs), while Herman picked up her first of the season (51 assists, 12 digs).
- Nolte (13) and Rudsinski (11) also reached double figure kills.
- Rudsinski added five blocks as UMSL held an 8-6 advantage in that category.
- Woll posted 24 digs.
