BOLIVAR, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team came up short in an 80-68 overtime loss at Southwest Baptist on Saturday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
The host Bearcats made all three three-point attempts and sank 8-of-10 free throws in the extra period en route to the win.

Breanna Diestelkamp nailed a three-pointer from well beyond the three-point arc as time expired in regulation to send the game to overtime.
Diestelkamp finished with a season-best 14 points, while redshirt senior
Laura Szorenyi, coming off 22 points at Drury on Thursday night, bettered that with 23 points today to mark back-to-back 20-point games for the first time in her UMSL career.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Szorenyi (8) and junior
Alex LaPorta (7) combined for 15 points in the first quarter as UMSL held a 19-14 lead after that opening frame behind 53.3 percent shooting before the Tritons took a 35-30 lead into halftime.
A 6-2 SBU spurt to end the third quarter allowed the hosts to pull ahead 49-48 heading into the final 10 minutes.
UMSL scored eight straight to open the fourth quarter for a 56-49 lead, but a 9-2 run by the Bearcats knotted the game at 58-58 with 2:21 to go. The Tritons were plagued by a pair of turnovers in the final 44 seconds, while SBU, which was also aided by a late foul call, made 3-of-4 free throws for a 63-60 advantage before Diesteklamp's heroics.
UMSL finished the game shooting 39.4 percent and held a 36-34 rebounding advantage, including a 14-6 edge on the offensive end. SBU connected at a 51.9 percent clip.
